The Cafe at Cakes & Ale purveys of one of the best baguettes in town, along with top-tier croissants, coffee cakes and other baked treats. Look for retail wine sales with a frisky, intelligent list from which to choose. Before climbing aboard MARTA at the adjacent station, try a breakfast sandwich, one of several rise-and-shine options. Or grab a scone and a Chemex pot of coffee or a true espresso. In the afternoon, come for a pick-me-up featuring some sort of savory snack or after-dinner dessert and a glass of wine on Friday and Saturday. Other days, the cafe closes at 7 p.m.
