THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Battuto Restaurant Review:
Little Italy's Battuto is where you go when you want to indulge yourself and impress your guests. Those hurrying by on the neighborhood's busy sidewalks have been known to slow their pace to gaze in on its tiny, candlelit dining room, perhaps wishing they'd made a reservation. Each meal begins with a signature bouquet of breadsticks, flavored with onion and black pepper and tied with a thick cloth napkin. From there, things get decidedly more intricate. The menu changes often, but certain themes frequent the page: chitarra---delicate, flat spaghetti---embraces accompaniments like scallops or shrimp; veal scallopine offers a silken, subtle blend of flavors; salads are just barely brushed with intriguing flavors and accented with pungent Parmesan or pancetta. Battuto’s notable wine list is comprised of a selection of thoughtfully chosen bottles.
