The building is nondescript, both inside and out, and the service a bit spotty but it’s the best Italian-American food you’ll find for the price in the area. The marinara is fresh with bits of garlic floating through it, the rolls are served hot and the salads are crisp and cold. Don’t miss the bacon-wrapped shrimp, which are stuffed with just enough horseradish to give them zing, the fried calamari or the crunchy cannoli stuffed with sweet ricotta filling. Those with lighter appetites may want to try a pizza from one of The Big Apple's wood-fired ovens.
