THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill Restaurant Review:
Directed by executive chef Derek Dollar, who also leads the kitchen at Milton's Cuisine & Cocktails, another Southern Proper Hospitality Group venue, Roswell’s branch of The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill draws crowds for its large seafood-focused menu. The restaurant sports a nautical-themed décor with industrial touches by Marty Mason Design Group. We sampled the lobster bisque but found it salty. Beach Balls, fritters made from bacon, shrimp and green onion, constitute a good starter to share. While there are specials, such as Coca-Cola barbecued salmon, we advocate sticking with straightforward preparations, as the fish deserves simplicity to showcase its quality. Try the grouper, and the salmon came rare as ordered. The house makes good tartar and rémoulade sauces, among others, if you want embellishments. For a side, go for the grilled broccoli. Although south Georgia is known for fish and grits, we don't find this version of grits particularly flavorful. Check out the Boston Cream Trifle for dessert; one will handily serve two. The wine list includes some decent selections that pair with fish at reasonable money, but nothing exciting.
