Blue Point Grille Restaurant Review:
Blue Point Grille boasts a distinct nautical theme throughout, but you won’t find any tired fishnets or weathered oars --- the vibe is more yacht than rowboat. Not surprisingly, seafood reaches to every corner of the menu. A starter of lobster and shrimp salad comes dressed in a lemon-caper rémoulade, while the jumbo Gulf shrimp cocktail surrounds Bloody Mary cocktail sauce. These starters give way to a host of elegant, simply prepared main courses. Examples include the Nags Head grouper topped with a vermouth cream as well as traditional bouillabaisse featuring lobster tail, shrimp, mussels and whitefish in a deeply flavored saffron broth. The restaurant’s famous, fluffy lobster mashed potatoes accompany many of the dishes. Desserts are standard and satisfying. The martini list is creative and the wine list is extensive, but plan to pay for the privilege of such plenty.
