BluWater Bistro offers casual waterside dining and unpretentious, well-prepared seafood. Offering dynamite views of Lake Union, this location is perfect for watching seaplanes land and enjoying sunsets. On gray days, the warm, wood-trimmed interior beckons with a huge fireplace flanked by an overstuffed sofa and chair, and tables set between cushioned, high-backed booths. What rescues this place from being just another touristy waterfront restaurant is its bistro menu, complemented by a sheet of fresh daily specials. Favorites have included whole bacon-wrapped rainbow trout stuffed with shrimp mousse, and grilled shrimp and asparagus blanketed with rémoulade seasoned with capers, herbs and sweet pepper. Meat figures prominently on the menu and is nicely handled, from the chunky, baseball-cut sirloin to a petite New York strip. The crisp roasted chicken is a year-round comfort-food favorite. A full wine list offers a vintage for every season.
