With its dramatic crystal chandeliers hanging from a high ceiling, worn brick accents and tables topped with fresh flowers, Brenart is an unexpectedly charming space. But it’s the abundance of fine art lining the walls---even displayed on a plasma screen over the counter---that makes this Old Pasadena venue as much a bona fide art gallery as a café. And should you be hungry, you’ll find burgers and salads ranging from Cobb to Caesar to Niçoise. Brenart added a wine bar and a dinner menu featuring moules with frites, rack of lamb and scallop risotto, satisfying hungry patrons craving something more than just a “taste of art.” The establishment is affiliated with Brenart International, which also operates galleries in Belgium.
