THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe Hanalei Restaurant Review:
With its stunning view of Hanalei Bay and Kauai's North Shore mountains and valleys, Café Hanalei at the Princeville Resort would be worth seeking out, even if the food wasn't good. You are in luck, because it is. A decent breakfast buffet offers a wide range of choices, though still typical of any resort. Lunch and dinner menus are much better, although dinner is a pricey affair and unless you arrive early, it's too dark to really appreciate the view. Still, it can be quite romantic to dine outdoors on its spacious lanai in warm weather. Asian influences dot the menu: Angus tenderloin with miso-glazed prawns, scallops with saké butter on choy sum, chicken breast on a pad thai salad, blue crab cakes with avocado salsa and fresh sashimi are a few of the dinner offerings. There’s also a Champagne Sunday brunch, Wednesday prime rib special and an outstanding Friday night seafood buffet. Try a long, leisurely lunch on the outdoor terrace: ample salads, sandwiches, burgers and other entrées have always been enjoyable, while birds, surfers and the view provide plenty of entertainment.
