THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED CaliTerra Restaurant Review:
This well-composed space offers the warmth of fine woods and good art. Its also a good spot for grazing after an evening at the nearby Rialto Center for the Performing Arts. Its worth the trip downtown for breakfast if you order panettone French toast, a huge portion of crisp toast with sliced bananas and orange Mascarpone. The appetizers, including excellent, plump calamari with aïoli, are large enough to share. Return for dinner and youll find an excellent wild-mushroom risotto, the grains of rice nicely separate and al dente, and the mushrooms all fresh. The steaks are reasonably priced, about $27 for a huge, 18-ounce porterhouse steak. Go all-out for dessert, and focus on the crêpes with seasonal fruits and whipped cream. The sea salt and pepper mills on every table are a unique touch. Check out the wine tastings held on the first Friday of every month.
