This classic Italian restaurant provides consistently well-executed fare in a warm, inviting atmosphere decorated in old-world style with fleur de lis wallpaper, soothing beiges and soft lighting. An adjoining bar area with trompe l'oeil shelves of books lining the walls, giving diners the impression of being in a private library lounge, provides a dining room alternative for pre- or post-dinner drinks. The menu includes pastas cooked al dente, such as tortellini Bolognese and orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe, and meat and fish like veal cutlet Parmigiana and simply grilled salmon. A wine list dominated by Italian and Californian whites and reds pairs well with the traditional cuisine. And don't forget to consider the uplifting tiramisu for dessert.
