Caravan Restaurant Review:
In what is now an established area for trendy dining --- Exmouth Market --- New Zealand chef Miles Kirby (formerly at Providores) serves an array of small dishes that surprise and delight. And despite a large plate selection, most people sensibly go with the small plate, sharing-style of eating. Edamame purée with pickled mushrooms, radicchio and artichoke crisps get the palate going for more savory dishes like grilled octopus with paprika, shallots and capers; massman goat curry with cucumber pickle; and grilled pork chop with Vietnamese slaw, cashews and shrimp sambal. Puddings are equally adventurous; there’s a good weekend brunch and service is friendly. The setting fits in with the area: industrial, quirky and informal. Also located at King’s Cross at Granary Building, 1 Granary Sq., 020-7101 7661.
