Cheever's Cafe Restaurant Review:
Housed in a historic former flower shop, Cheever's Café retains the bright and fresh appeal of its predecessor. With a walk-in floral refrigerator repurposed to display a selection of wines and beers, the owners’ clever innovation is apparent. The menu of reimagined comfort food is no exception. To start, try the homemade rosemary-and-thyme-scented dinner rolls and roasted chicken and pepper jack strudel drizzled with a balsamic reduction. A commitment to local and seasonal ingredients is highlighted in the mixed seafood tamales, overflowing with fresh vegetables and seafood and ladled with a light ancho chile cream sauce. The Cheever’s chicken-fried steak is an Oklahoma staple; the dish offers just the right amount of crunch. With options like the zesty strawberry rhubarb “pot pie," served with cinnamon crème fraîche, dessert is not to be missed. Weekend brunch includes weekday favorites, as well as omelets and croissant french toast. Relax with a fruity and floral glass of the Loredona Viognier and enjoy your meal.
