Chicken Salad Chick Restaurant Review:
Stacy Brown began cooking up her chicken salad in Auburn, Alabama, and she and her soon-to-be spouse launched their first restaurant in 2008. Today, the mostly Southern chain has spread throughout the region, with more than 75 locations. Eleven are in Georgia, chiefly in the Atlanta area, although there are a few in other Georgia towns. Interiors are bright with lime green anchoring the color scheme. Chicken salad is the chain's signature dish, which is offered in a dozen variations, ranging from classic Southern style with sweet pickles and eggs to spicy. Pimento cheese and egg salad could distract one from the main bill of fare. All this comes as either a sandwich or a salad, and calorie counts accompany all listed dishes on the menu, even the kids' menu items, except the beverages. Add a cup of whatever soup is presented daily for a mere 50 cents. Get the broccoli salad as a side. All dressings are freshly made. Dessert offerings are limited to a cookie, but there is a fresh fruit side that would nicely stand in for dessert. Gluten-free and vegetarian requirements are easily satisfied.
