China Dumpling Restaurant boasts dragon motifs, tile floors, ornate looking chairs and white tablecloths. The small dining room has a view of the kitchen where you can watch the wok action. True to its name, dim sum dumplings rule, served daily from mid-morning to the afternoon in round metal steamers and on small plates. Try open-topped steamed shu mai filled with minced shrimp, pork and mushrooms; sticky rice with Chinese sausage steamed in lotus leaves; or steamed barbecue pork bao buns. There’s also chow fun (wide rice noodles) stir-fried with beef. It’s all best with tea, but there’s beer and saké, too.
