THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cibucan Restaurant Review:
This is just what the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood needs---a bright, tropical room with bright, tropical food. Cooked by Owen Lee, and overseen by Francesca Prieto and Stephen Jenkins, the food is tasty and far from mundane, combining sweet, hot and sour flavors into a tasting symphony. The seafood chowder is rich with fish and coconut milk, jolted with lime. The pork and pear tart is a savory morsel with pineapple salsa. Try the root vegetable fries and the sweet blue corn cakes, the guacamole, or a more substantial dish, such as pan-seared red snapper with almond chimichurri. Tapas style means there are a lot of different plates for different tastes and the style invites sharing. Don't ignore sweet creamy desserts like flan, banana tart or tres leches cakes. Bring wine, beer or tequila to compliment the piquancy of this Latin-Fusion cuisine.
