THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cindy's Waterfront Restaurant Review:
Chef Cindy Pawlcyn’s namesake eatery occupies a choice piece of waterfront inside Monterey’s beloved Aquarium. We liked the kid-friendly atmosphere, the mini-binoculars with guides to local marine life, and the abbreviated but intriguing wine list. The food disappointed, however. Tomato-basil soup was just okay and the cheese toast garnish was soggy. However, a tangy lemon-lime tart mounded with not-too-sweet meringue was redemptive and satisfying. Ambience and value are major issues here. Restaurant seating is corralled off from a less expensive café by an eight-foot partition in a room with a ceiling well in excess of 20 feet. The dining room has the same view as the café, all of the noise and only slightly different furnishings. If you want convenience and sustainable food and don’t mind a fairly big ticket, it’s an okay option.
