To dine here, with its sweeping views of sand and sea and French-California cuisine from executive chef Patrick Becquet, is an experience that L.A. gourmets drive 100 miles to enjoy. Look for appetizers like the escargot and shiitake feuillette with garlic-Chardonnay sauce, porcupine shrimp, and blini with three caviars (sevruga, golden and salmon). Entrées run to Maine lobster and diver scallops en papillote, and grilled noisettes of lamb. For dessert, we like the scrumptious chocolate cheesecake mousse with pears, or opt for the mango-coconut cheesecake. Citronelle stocks 4,000 bottles of wine and there's a glassed-in wine room for browsing.
