THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cleo Restaurant Review:
The Orlando Hotel is home to a branch of Cleo from Disruptive Restaurant Group, a subsidiary of sbe. In a sprawling space with Middle Eastern design and a large patio, chef Danny Elmaleh offers a sophisticated Mediterranean menu. Start with the mezzes that can be hummus, cucumber and yogurt or babaganoush, to name just a few. Be sure to order the grilled Brussels sprouts seasoned with red wine vinaigrette. If your taste buds call for seafood, try grilled octopus or scallops. You should also have one of the ultra-fresh salads, which have a homemade feel: the Greek, the beets and avocado salad or the version with watermelon and feta. Other plates might include Moroccan fried chicken, curried salmon or petite filet steak. End with the toffee date sticky pudding, yogurt panna cotta or apple galette. The wine list features mainly California selections. Consider ordering a fun cocktail like the Vinebury made with Absolut, elderflower liqueur, basil, cucumber, serrano and lemon.
