THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cocotte Restaurant Review:
Occupying a Nob Hill space outfitted by designer Jean-Michel Fabregon that was formerly home to Hyde Street Bistro, earthy-hued and cozy Cocotte has the same owner-chef, Sancerre-born Mikael Audry, as the departed HSB. Audry uses mostly organic ingredients produced in Northern California to create rustic favorites from his homeland: sea bass bouillabaisse, rabbit à la moutarde and mussels marinière spark Gallic memories --- not of Paris, per se, but of lingering village repasts. Slow-cooked coq au vin, golden-crowned goat cheese potato gratin, and sweet dreams banana crème brûlée are signature dishes sure to warm up any foggy night.
