Crema Cafe Restaurant Review:
This corner spot started life selling owner Sonny’s homemade ice cream and has since grown into a charming neighborhood café. Ice cream is still its claim to fame and rightfully so, but now you can get a nice lunch here, too. It might include a melty, grilled portobello panini snazzed up with slices of red onion and a swipe of pesto or a mixed greens salad drizzled with delicate champagne vinaigrette. For dinner, you can sip a glass of wine or order a beer and a plate of pasta or a crispy pizza topped with fresh mozzarella and basil. If it’s summer, we like sitting outside in the adjacent alleyway---all romance and sparkles with strung lights, candles, fresh flowers and a fountain. Sometimes we just come here after a movie to have ice cream. Our fave is still the signature Crema (made from coffee beans soaked in cream), but sorbets are topnotch, too---especially the strawberry rhubarb.
