Deuxave Restaurant & Bar
617-517-5915
An upscale neighborhood restaurant that focuses on contemporary American cuisine grounded in French technique.
Deuxave Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Chef and co-owner Chris Coombs earned a following when he opened dbar in Dorchester; here, he paired up with co-owner Brian Piccini to create the American nouveau cuisine at this Back Bay restaurant. Décor includes bow front windows and an array of mirrors lining the walls.
Food & Drinks: Look for ambitious appetizers like crispy Crescent Farms duck confit and a duet of Prime beef tartare and Wagyu carpaccio; mains focus on seafood such as line-caught Atlantic cod and local pan-roasted monkfish. Be sure to check out the wine list from sommelier Jason Irving, who got his start at the late Aujourd'hui. Desserts are indulgent, from mocha tiramisu to crème brûlée, and the aptly named Ode to Elvis Presley (banana pudding, banana bread, fenugreek glace, peanut butter powder, mango gelée and buckwheat tuile).
