THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Dixons Downtown Grill Restaurant Review:
Because of its great location---near the Colorado Rockies' baseball park, the renowned Tattered Cover Bookstore and just a short hop to Six Flags Elitch Gardens---Dixons is busy all the time. Servers are friendly, efficient and handle the crowds well. Local loft dwellers have made this a popular breakfast spot featuring light-as-air omelets and pancakes, vanilla-fragrant french toast and homemade granola. For lunch, there is a full array of sandwiches including the traditional prime rib French dip, a bursting-with-corned beef Reuben and several classic beef and buffalo burgers. For dinner, the poblano chili plate---fire-charred poblano peppers stuffed with white cheddar and goat cheeses served with tomatillo salsa---is one of our favorites. Heavy oak tables and chairs as well as dark wood booths and hammered copper light fixtures give Dixons an old-fashioned arts and crafts feel.
