THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED A Dong Restaurant Review:

Long celebrated as the most authentic Vietnamese eatery in the city, A Dong is need of renovation and its food has slipped a few notches---as has the neighborhood in which it’s located. But although this is considered a tough corner of town, you can enter the restaurant directly from the parking lot, so we feel reasonably comfortable when we visit. The menu reads like a compendium of Vietnamese cooking, including more than 100 soups and noodle dishes. We often wind up ordering one of each as a follow-up to a big plate of spring rolls, a tad greasy but beautifully crisp. Another classic, beef meatballs wrapped in pig’s caul and grilled, is an A Dong specialty that most regulars know tastes much better than it sounds. Service is attentive and prompt.
