THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Dos Diablos Restaurant Review:
Odds are, devotees of the Rick Bayless school of Mexican cuisine will not be impressed with this River North restaurant. But even if the food isn’t authentic --- a hodgepodge of Tex-Mex classics (fajitas, overstuffed burritos) --- Dos Diablos does have some favorable qualities. The made-in-house chips are terrific --- even better when paired with smoky salsa. Besides, the margaritas are strong, and its location --- in the heart of the Hubbard restaurant row --- make it a convenient city pit-stop, whether you sit at the long bar or opt for one of the comfortable booths along the wall. An added bonus: it’s open late every night, there’s a menu for kids and brunch goes beyond the basics to include jalapeño bacon and breakfast quesadillas.
