Ella Dining Room & Bar Restaurant Review:
With its topnotch service, high-end décor and innovative menu, Ella has elevated fine dining in Sacramento. The multi-million-dollar design is evident in the white floor-length draperies that flow throughout and the imported, colorful wooden shutters that cover the ceiling. Two tables d’hôte provide front-row views of the artistry behind the scenes. The seasonal, contemporary menu includes selections from the cold bar, small plates, salads, vegetables, pasta, fish and meat, allowing diners to mix-and-match. Starters may include grilled quail with hominy grits, bone marrow with shallots and dates, and lamb tartare with olives and fennel. Mains are equally enticing, perhaps wood-fired pheasant with dirty rice, sturgeon with fava greens and bacon lardon, and pan-roasted scallops with Meyer lemon sabayon. Desserts are inventive, such as the cream cheese crème brûlée with carrot cake and fried walnuts and the strawberry white chocolate panna cotta with elderflower sponge cake.
