The change in ownership hasn't diminished the charm of this busy standard. The bakery and country store elements add to the ambience, as does the fireplace in the main dining room. This restaurant sits at the end of a low row of antique stores, which are especially popular during the weekend, so parking can be an adventure. But the reward is in the farmhouse food---hearty breakfasts of biscuits and sausage gravy, peach pancakes or bacon-and-eggs basics. A somewhat limited number of sandwiches and burgers fill out the lunch menu while the dinner choices, also limited, include Southern fried chicken or prime rib or, if you prefer, steak or seafood of the day. One nice touch: Dinners are served family-style, which means all-you-can-eat sides.
