THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Flip's Satellite Cafe Restaurant Review:
Despite its generic suburban strip mall location, Flip’s Satellite rises to the occasion with an outside deck and a cute Southwestern-style interior paved with local artists’ work. The contemporary American menu is just as ambitious. For starters, we like the Asian lettuce wrappers, which come with do-it-yourself fixings of lettuce leaves, warm stir-fried meat, carrot strips, fried wontons and peanut sauce. Or try the shrimp fettuccine, lavished with just the right amount of garlicky cream sauce. Ditto for the entrée of slightly-spicy jalapeño chicken breast, which is grilled and served in a pool of buttery herb sauce. Most of the dishes can be converted to vegetarian offerings with tofu as a substitution for meat. True to its Barton Springs heritage, a full coffee menu of espressos, cappuccinos and lattes is available, too.
