Formaggio Restaurant Review:
The first enoteca to open in Honolulu, Formaggio has undergone changes since original owner-wine merchant Lyle Fujioka sold the popular spot. The present owners changed the emphasis from wine to food and targeted a younger demographic, which has created more of a see-and-be-seen singles environment with live music most nights. We recommend the rich crab-studded fonduta, lobster mac n' cheese and the pancetta pesto pizza. It may seem out of place in tropical Hawaii, but the french onion soup is unbeatable on a rainy winter night. Don't expect your server to know a Cabernet from a Sauvignon Blanc.
