While the years have brought changes to this old-timer --- from its existence as a standalone shack to an enclosed and shiny modern eatery --- the place still serves some of the best and creamiest frozen custard. To keep its business a year-round entity, and as a way to compete with the younger, fresher gelato and ice cream parlors, a hot-food menu was added, which lists pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, a few Italian entrées and American favorites. Yet the savvy know the real draw is the frozen custard. Flavors include vanilla, chocolate, Zebra Twist, strawberry and a selection of the day.
