Forget the fashion cafés of artsy La Brea---this is where the groovy Santa Monica art crowd hangs. There are women wearing gallery-worthy L.A. Eyeworks glasses and men in slouchy gray linen suits, plus customers with a we know we’re cool air who don’t want to spend a lot of money on lunch. Among the daily-changing soup specials, the cilantro-spiked corn chowder and earthy lentil are standouts. The sandwich selection is varied. Nothing on the menu is going to blow you away, but the satisfaction quotient is high.
