This historic building is charming with its white-washed stucco walls, heavy-duty wood beams and romantic lighting. The California grill cuisine here isn't super inventive, but it does bring a fine dining component to this laid back beach town. The simplest appetizer---green beans, lightly breaded and fried to a golden crisp---may be the best. The Hollywood Brown Derby Cobb, made with oakwood-smoked bacon and grilled chicken breast, can easily make a meal. Ditto for the rigatoni pasta or chicken fettuccine. If you're in the mood for meat, we recommend one of the steaks: filet au poivre, prime rib in a petit or large portion or the hand-cut daily selection. Almost everything from the dinner menu, with the exception of the steaks and rack of lamb, appears in a smaller, more simplified portion at lunch.
