THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Greenwood's on Green Street Restaurant Review:
Founded in 1986, Greenwood’s occupies a former simple Roswell residence whose several rooms are painted bright colors and showcase rough-hewn lumber and bead-board wainscoted, art-bedecked walls. Owner Bill Greenwood draws big crowds with his fried chicken (patience required as it’s a 30-minute wait), crab cakes (when available), shrimp with grits, and grilled meatloaf. Sausage- and bacon-stuffed wings make a good starter to share, as the portion provides a half dozen. Rotisserie duck with plum sauce gets a too-heavy hit of black pepper for our taste, but it’s been popular on this menu for ages. Everything is house-made, right down to the famous deep-dish fruit and pecan pies and ice cream. The wine list is limited, so we find a brew more satisfying. Greenwood also operates a casual barbecue spot, Swallow at the Hollow, across the street.
