This Century City restaurant offers a seafood-heavy menu, while the elegant, modern décor includes laminated blonde-wood ceiling beams, vaguely Art Deco-style lighting fixtures, a glass block-faced bar and comfortable booths. Starters include a healthy-size shrimp cocktail, fried Pacific oysters and house-smoked salmon. Crab cakes are served with a pommery mustard sauce, while grilled loup de mer and cedar plank-roasted salmon are modestly seasoned and prepared to retain their moistness. Carnivores needn't despair, as campfire barbecue pork ribs, center-cut filet and wood-grilled Hawaiian rib-eye are also available. From the compact dessert list, we recommend the hot fudge sundae. Cheerful, efficient service is another reason to appreciate Gulfstream.
