THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Harry's Tap Room Restaurant Review:
A spin-off of the local favorite Sam & Harry's steakhouse and The Caucus Room, this upscale and rather yuppified place in Arlington suggests that DC style and DC prices are taking over the 'burbs. The lunch-brunch menu underscores why this place deserves its celebrity, putting a polished spin on commonplace dishes. We craved something sandwich-like so turned to Harry's rendition of the Cuban sandwich, and also sampled the wild mushroom omelet, a three-egg feast overstuffed with a jumble of sautéed wild mushrooms. There is also five-onion soup as well as shrimp ceviche and pan-fried oysters. Harry's offers a clubby atmosphere and a good ambience for drinks, but be sure to call ahead for a table or you may be left out in the cold. Note that Harry's focuses on the local sourcing of everything from vegetables to wines, so expect to find that the menu reflects seasonal availability of various items.
