The Hat Restaurant Review:
Their sign says “world famous pastrami.” We doubt that anyone in Paris, Tokyo or even New York has heard of The Hat, but Simi residents know good pastrami when they find it. Here it’s served hot on a French roll and dipped in juice. The juice can be had on the side for more controlled dipping or for when you want to just mustard it up. Rye, wheat or sourdough can be switched out for the French roll if you need some variety. Fries or onion rings make appropriate sides. Sure, there are burgers and cold sandwiches, but really this place is all about the pastrami dip. Environs are fast-food casual with counter service.
