THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Hops Restaurant Bar & Brewery Restaurant Review:
The big draws here are the microbrews unique to this home-grown chain of restaurants that has now bubbled over into 15 states. Get up close and personal with the brews since stainless steel brewery machinery is visible from your booth and you can tour the on-site microbrewery. A variety of ales and lager-style beers are made on the premises. One of the most popular is the Alligator Ale (appropriate for Florida), a mahogany colored ale with a smooth finish. Hops even brews its own root beer. The food is somewhat standard, with a few surprises. Ale Poppers is a tempting appetizer (six jalapeño peppers filled with cream cheese and dipped into Hops’ beer batter, then served with a spicy pepper jelly. Salads are made with twelve lettuces tossed to order. The entrées include steak, pork chops, chicken and pastas. Baby-back ribs are smoked in-house using a five-step cooking process. Jerk Roast Tenderloin is a delicious new addition (pork tenderloin marinated with jerk seasoning and olive oil, roasted and served with a Marsala-mushroom sauce).
