The red velvet banquettes and mood lighting of this sleek eatery in the W New York — The Court hotel may ooze sexiness, but the real draw is chef Michael Wurster's intoxicating creations. Well-made, if predictable, entrées include chicken lollipops, creamy roasted tomato risotto (with New Zealand cockles), and rack of milk-fed veal. The diver sea scallops are nicely paired with vanilla-accented cauliflower and grilled pineapple while the saffron gnocchi that accompanies the American red snapper nearly outshines everything. A prix-fixe six-course dinner for $66 changes weekly based on available ingredients.
