THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Islander Caribbean Restaurant & Lounge Restaurant Review:
Trinidadian Addie Green rules in this island kingdom, and she should. She's an accomplished Caribbean cook and has brought in family members to carry on the island cuisine tradition. You'll hear an island beat in the background and some native patois, but people of every persuasion appreciate her honest fare. If you know little about Trinidadian food, let Addie's menu teach you. We'd walk a mile or two just for her curried goat rotis with feather-light bread and puffy island-inspired crab cakes. Green is famous for her fish dishes, and her sides, from pelau (rice with pigeon peas) to cabbage, are good, too. Sip an island drink, like the sweet and spicy sorrell, and you may just want to limbo.
