La Caravana Restaurant Review:
Salvadoran cuisine is not easy to find in Pasadena, but this narrow dining room is an authentic charmer. Here you can tuck into one of ten different thin, delicately crispy pupusas (we’re partial to the pork or cheese and loroco flower) in an art-filled room with cozy booths illuminated by wrought-iron chandeliers. The menu also offers classic empanadas with various fillings, hearty chicken and beef soups, and plenty of tamales. A popular combination plate includes the aforementioned options, along with plantains, rice and beans, and spicy slaw. Order a tropical drink flavored with tamarind, papaya or even chocolate to round out a modestly priced adventure.
