THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Golondrina Cafe Restaurant Review:
The first Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles, La Golondrina makes its home in the historic Pelanconi House on Olvera Street. The hacienda-style eatery, with rough-hewn ceiling beams, vibrant colors and traditional Mexican art, is a fun, festive place with a distinctly touristy feel. A familiar array of Mexican standards---carne asada, burritos wrapped in house-made tortillas, chicken enchiladas smothered in mole, and fajitas---are offered, along with specialties like Yucatecan-inspired cochinita pibil (achiote-marinated steamed pork) and goat stew. Breakfast is available all day. For dessert, you’ll find the ubiquitous flan, as well as house-made cheesecake, while beverages include margaritas and other cocktails, beers and fruity non-alcoholic aguas frescas.
