La Petite Maison Restaurant Review:

With its open kitchen turning out French-Mediterranean cuisine, a spacious dining room and ultra-chic bar, and tasteful design of local artwork, inlaid white marble, aged-mirror-lined walls and white tablecloths, La Petite Maison transports guests out of Dubai and into the heart of Nice. The extensive menu focuses on small plates and the meal is served family-style. Starters offer ample variety for vegetarians, and include the restaurant’s famous burrata à la caprese, a creamy round of artisan cheese topped with basil and cherry tomatoes. A standout dish among the fresh seafood is the carpaccio de coquille St-Jacques; finished with cranberries, almonds, capers and a touch of sea salt, the beauty is in its simplicity. Mains range from Mediterranean-inspired pastas to an entrecôte (grilled rib-eye steak) and an item that requires a 24-hour advance order: poulet au foie gras (foie gras-stuffed whole chicken). The aforementioned bar touts cocktails and drinks that require just as much time to prepare as some of the food --- the Old Fashioned is quoted as an eight-minute drink --- while the Tomatini comes elegantly garnished with ground pepper and salt taking a Bloody Mary to the next level. The wine list is predominantly focused on French varietals and proposes by-the-glass options and an extensive Champagne selection. For dessert, consider the cheesecake with berry compote and pain perdu (french toast) with spice ice cream. Patrons young and old and from all backgrounds appreciate the Niçoise cooking. Staff is polished.
