THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Laforet Restaurant Review:
In tree-lined Highland Park, a beautifully converted home houses Laforêt. Co-owners chef Michael Uricchio and his brother, Robert, operate this fine dining restaurant known for consistent across-the-board excellence. The décor is serene, understated elegance: crystal sparkles, polished silver rests on crisp linen, fresh flowers grace each table. Smooth, unpretentious service maintains a comfortable ambience. Talented chef Uricchio stalks quality ingredients for the updated classic French cuisine---Elysian Fields organic lamb, all-natural Maple Leaf duck, produce from local growers. He flies in fresh Hawaiian fish. In season, he offers luxury items such as morels, truffles and asparagus. For increased adventure, try a fixed-price tasting menu offering a choice of two on-menu items for each of five courses. Luscious house-made desserts---bittersweet Belgian chocolate bombe, the signature lemon tart---indulge the sweet tooth. Good wines and premium spirits complete the experience.
