Openings

WuHu Noodle has opened at the Silverton Casino Hotel. The 44-seat restaurant features a menu of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai cuisine. Signature dishes include Singapore-style noodles with shrimp, shredded pork, egg, bell peppers, bean sprouts, onions and an essence of curry; shu mai with shrimp, pork and black mushrooms; Japanese ramen with barbecue pork, tea-braised soft boiled egg, bamboo shoots, red ginger and mushrooms; and daily dim sum specials. An interactive kitchen viewing area allows guests to individualize their orders and watch chefs prepare their creations. Chef Chung Ping Yu, a native of Hong Kong, is the restaurant’s executive room chef and has spent more than 20 years at various hotels and casinos in Las Vegas. Anchor Bar, the Buffalo, NY institution that invented the original Buffalo wing in 1964, has opened its first West Coast outpost in the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian/Palazzo. The iconic wings come in the traditional flavors of mild, medium, hot, spicy hot barbecue and "suicidal;" Vegas-exclusive flavors include honey-ginger, salt and pepper, teriyaki sesame and extra mild. In addition, a mix of East Coast favorites are served, including beef on weck (thinly sliced roast beef dipped in au jus). An exclusive ice cream bar is created by local gelato impresario Luciano Pellegrino, with menu items such as handcrafted carrot and celery sorbetto pops. A selection of beer, wine and cocktails are served, including New York's Brooklyn Brown Ale and Genesee Cream Ale. Anchor Bar Las Vegas is open from 10 a.m. daily. Siegel’s 1941 has opened at the El Cortez Hotel & Casino in the space formerly occupied by The Flame. The name and décor pay homage to Bugsy Siegel’s lust for extravagance, and the city’s past, set with floor-to-ceiling windows, tiled ceiling, vintage-style lighting, red leather booths and a display of archival artworks. The 150-seat restaurant is open 24 hours and features extensive menus filled with modern twists on classic American standards, such as roast Prime rib of beef au jus, seasonal stone crabs, matzo ball soup with challah, Irish green corned beef hash with three eggs, seven-layer lasagna Bolognese, classic shrimp scampi and a Monte Cristo with ham and Gruyère cheese. Several items are named after mobsters from the past, such as the Lucky Luciano Burger with marinara, caramelized onion, Romano cheese and fresh mozzarella; or Meyer Lansky Burger with pastrami, Swiss cheese, house-made coleslaw, pickles and Russian dressing. Café 6 has opened at the Palms, in the former space of Simon, on the 6th floor of Palms Place. The restaurant features several burger options such as the 'shroom burger with a Dr. Pepper glaze; turkey dinner burger with apple cranberry marmalade; "Burn Your Face Off" with either an Angus beef patty or a chicken breast and habanero hot sauce; salmon mini burgers with salmon salad; Chicken of the Sea “sammich” with seared tuna; and the salty catch featuring beer battered cod, chips, tomato tartar sauce and old bay coleslaw. A collection of craft beers is offered, such as Petrus Aged Red Ale, Monks Café Flemish Sour Ale and Ballast Point Big Eye IPA, with pairing suggestions to complement each signature burger. Texas Station Offering Dining Specials Throughout July
Texas Station will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its opening, in July 1995, by offering dining specials through the end of July. All priced at $20, the special offers include an appetizer plate for two featuring bacon-wrapped shrimp, coconut shrimp, crab cakes and calamari at Austins Steakhouse; bananas Foster dessert at Texas Star Oyster Bar; and a meal for two with bay shrimp cocktail, nine-ounce prime rib dinner and chocolate cake at Grand Cafe. In addition, all casino bars will offer the Texas Sunset cocktail made with Absolut Mandarin, Malibu Coconut Rum, pineapple juice, orange juice and a splash of grenadine for $6. Morels Offering Four-course Summer Tasting Menu
Morels French Steakhouse & Bistro at The Palazzo is offering a four-course $45 summer tasting menu with the choice of an appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. Prepared by executive chef J.L Carrera, the menu runs through August 31 and is available during lunch and dinner hours. Appetizer options include beef tenderloin tartare, oysters with mignonette and fresh horseradish, Snake River Farms slider, and crispy fried Baja California prawn. Salad options are hearts of romaine with Parmesan croutons; mixed greens and nectarines with hazelnuts and Laura Chanel goat cheese; watermelon and arugula salad with toasted pepita seeds; and Greek salad with marinated olives. Entrees include free-range chicken paillard, pan-seared Scottish salmon, lobster mac and cheese, and grilled petite filet mignon. Among desserts are chocolate mousse with chocolate toffee cookie, coconut panna cotta with Madagascar vanilla roasted pineapple, and housemade lemon meringue ice cream with fresh marshmallow. Trevi Introduces Ticket Promotion and Late-Night Happy Hour
Trevi inside The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace has introduced a special offer for guests attending a show and a late-night happy hour. Available throughout the summer, guests presenting a ticket stub or receipt from a show that evening at The Colosseum or from Absinthe will receive one complimentary happy hour Bellini. The late-night happy hour, available from 9 p.m.-11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, includes $6 bites, such as crab-stuffed mushrooms, bruschetta and mini cheese stuffed burgers; and drink specials of frozen Bellinis for $4, bottled beer for $5, and wine and cocktails for $7. Jaleo Offering Special Prix-Fixe Menus during Las Vegas Restaurant Week from June 15-26
Jaleo at The Cosmopolitan will offer a three-course paella prix-fixe menu for lunch and a nine-course menu for dinner during Las Vegas Restaurant Week. The lunch menu will be priced at $20.15 per person, and the dinner will cost $50.15. In partnership with Restaurant Week, Jaleo will donate four dollars from each menu to Three Square Food Bank, Southern Nevada’s largest hunger relief organization. Chef Shuffle

Steve Aguglia has been appointed executive chef at Todd English P.U.B. at CityCenter. The Las Vegas native began his career as a prep cook in a local Italian restaurant at 15 years of age. In 1999, at age 17, he began as a garde mange and eventually worked his way up to sous chef at Joachim Splichal's Pinot Brasserie at The Venetian. Aguglia went on to open AquaKnox at The Venetian in 2003 as a line cook, and advanced to chef de cuisine, where he remained for 11 years. Carson Kitchen has named Eugene Santiago as its new executive chef. Santiago has been with the restaurant since it opened in June 2014. The Los Angeles native is a 2005 graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, Calif., and worked in the Los Angeles area at James RepublicElf Café and mar’sel at Terranea Resort, as well as for three years at Simon LA, and at Simon Kitchen & Bar for one year. Sterling Buckley has been appointed executive chef of La Cave Wine & Food Hideaway at Wynn Las Vegas. The Los Angeles native opened La Cave in 2010 as a line cook and quickly worked his way up. Buckley, a 2006 graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Las Vegas, has held positions in Las Vegas at StripSteak at Mandalay Bay, Koi at Planet Hollywood and Silk Road at Vdara; and at the New Sheridan Chop House in Telluride, Colorado. "Rock n' Roll Chef" Kerry Simon closed two of his restaurants when their leases ran out. His KGB: Kerry’s Gourmet Burgers at Harrah’s closed the first week of April, and Simon at Palms Place at the Palms Casino Resort closed in May. Neither resort has announced a replacement for Simon’s restaurants. Simon has been waging a medical battle against Multiple System Atrophy, and is confined to a wheelchair.
