Situated in Old Montreal where cobblestone streets and century-old buildings still dominate, Le Muscadin suits its surroundings. At lunchtime the place is packed with diners eager for rabbit and veal. The straightforward Italian menu includes antipasti, pastas, meats, fish and seafood. Pennine Romanoff is a standout --- the pasta is flamed with vodka in a rosé sauce spiked with black pepper --- as is the Dover sole. There are more than 20,000 bottles in Le Muscadin's wine cellar.
