Lively, warm Le St. Germain is a celebratory place, whether it’s an anniversary, birthday or Bastille Day. The romantic glass-enclosed patio filled with twinkle lights and greenery is one of the best spots for dining, but the friendly service makes any table feel special. Chef-owner Michel Despras turns out both satisfying classics and some interesting surprises. Start with wild mushroom soup or the local favorite, escargots Bourgogne, then follow with the mustard crusted sweetbreads or filet mignon with Roquefort and Syrah au jus. Pay particular attention to the specials on the seasonally changing menu. The bar menu is lively and varied, with a good sampling of the restaurant's best offerings.
