THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Leela Lounge Restaurant Review:
One of the unfortunate side effects of eating Indian is the occasional post-meal discomfort brought on by a filling cuisine. The chef at Leela Lounge, however, is on to something. The menu, which boasts typical street fare, Indian classics and a few inventive offerings, is designed to be light. There’s no butter in the kitchen; no heavy creams. Start with the Baghdadi-Jewish inspired Calcutta fried rolls, stuffed with lightly spiced vegetables. Both the Jaipuri tandoori quail served with mixed vegetables and the baby eggplants sautéed in a spicy sesame seed, poppy seed and tamarind sauce will make your taste buds dance and your stomach ask you for more. The affordable wine list, while brief, is highlighted by a few zesty Indian wines.
