THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Les Halles Restaurant Review:
This classic brasserie is best known for its meats --- and dare we say, a first-rate French onion soup, oozing with cheesy goodness. Of course, the eatery is also known for celeb chef Anthony Bourdain, author of Kitchen Confidential, who cooked at the original Les Halles (since closed). The exposé of the real life, behind-the-scenes operation of a professional kitchen not only brought Bourdain fame but also brought recognition to Les Halles' quality food and carnivore delights. Named for the old Parisian market district, the service is far more attentive than one expects and just the act of sharing a good meal in this area of downtown is comforting.
