Lombardo's Trattoria Restaurant Review:
The tender, handmade toasted ravioli are a signature dish at Lombardo’s. Another, from the original Sicilian family recipes highlighted on the menu, is the pepperloin steak. It appears as two big slices of tasty meat, rolled in peppercorns, nicely cooked and sauced with mushrooms, peppers and onions. Start your meal with the flash-fried spinach or the calzoni. End with the cannoli --- done to order, with ricotta spiked with cinnamon. The wine list offers a good variety of prices, though by-the-glass selections of anything Italian are sadly lacking. Service is relaxed in comparison to the flagship of the family’s five local eateries, Lombardo’s Restaurant, but this cozy spot tucked into a remodeled hotel next to Union Station remains a welcome option for tourists and downtown business types alike.
