THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant Review:
Of the few all-vegetarian restaurants in the metro area, Lotus stands out with its all-Chinese cast of tofu- and tempeh-based and mock-meat appetizers, burgers and entrées. The kitchen also focuses on incorporating organically raised ingredients whenever possible, and as a result, serves food that is both healthful, and for the vegetarian-oriented patron, non-meat. Good starters include the spring rolls, filled with organic vegetables and soy protein. As for hearty main dishes, the General Tso’s Surprise of soy protein nuggets that have the taste and texture of chicken is remarkably like its meaty counterpart. Any of the signature entrées or Lotus specials will find a place in your heart, and if you are a mom looking for a healthful kid's meal, any of the rice bowls or noodle dishes should appeal. The kitchen also offers a variety of smoothies, including tomato-green cabbage and spinach yogurt.
