A self-consciously hip---and very loud---restaurant, Louis XIV has a kitschy romantic flair, with a cozy loft, sponge-painted walls and heavy wooden tables bearing statuesque candles. While some vegetarian dishes are available, the backbone of the menu is French bistro: escargots, mussels, steak pommes frites and filet mignon bordelaise---all organic, s’il vous plaît. If you can bear the crush of long-haired French and Italians, the très slow service---and the attitude---you’ll enjoy a rollicking bistro meal here.
